Jesus stopped by a fig tree to look for its fruit to eat. Jeasus was tired and hungry from his long journey by the countryside preaching and healing people. The fig tree did not have any fruits so Jesus wanted it cut down but its owner begged Him not to and he promised by next year the fig tree would have fruits. Jesus let him keep the tree. God is like the saw that spins clockwise. When it’s time to chop down some wood for the fireplace, He’s ready to roll. We all have our fruitless or unproductive moments in our lives where we don’t bear fruits or produce harvest for God’s Kingdom. Let’s remember in God’s Kingdom is Jesus Who eats of the work of our hands. Give us one year, Master. Spare us, God, have mercy!
