The high priest Caiphas came up with; the money which he was going to give to Judas to betray Jesus to him. The betrayal of Jesus with the “blood money” led to His arrest & eventually, His crucifixion. Caiphas made ordinary 30 pieces of silver into money that would cost the lives of two people: Judas and Jesus. Judas who betrayed Jesus for money regretted but hanged himself. Jesus, the Son of God, whose Blood was shed from whipping Him, crowning Him with thorns & crucifying Him suffered all this although He Had power to stop it, He suffered out of love for us to save us from our sins. Jesus is the consecrated Body and Blood, made sacred because He is God’s Son and because He saves us from greed of the material, instead He shows us love for the eternal which is our spiritual oneness with Him on the last day.
